Windy conditions and rough water was a bad combination this weekend causing two boats to swamp. The highway says the first happened Saturday afternoon at the 53-mile marker of the Osage Arm in Morgan County. The operator of the boat, Robert Lachance of Ironton, was not wearing a safety device but was able to re-board the overturned boat and escaped injury. The second incident happened Sunday morning near the 4-mile marker of the Gravois Arm at Mill Creek Cove, also in Morgan County. In it, 61-year-old David Voss, of New Haven, ended up in the water. He was wearing a safety device and, also, escaped injury.
