Ultralight Plane Crashes Into Little Niangua Arm

Local News Tuesday, August 18th, 2020

Another airplane has crashed at the Lake of the Ozarks.

According to the Highway Patrol, the ultralight plane crashed into the 3.5 mile mark of the Little Niangua Arm and sank to the bottom.

They say the pilot suffered minor injuries from the impact and was able to swim to shore.

The pilot indicated to the patrol that his engine simply gave out while in flight.

Officials say they have determined the crash site and divers will be pulling the plane out of the water later this week.

Because it is an ultralight plane, the crash does not fall under the FAA so there will be no FAA investigation.
