Missouri’s 9th annual “back to school” sales tax holiday started at midnight and runs through the weekend. The state sales tax, just over 4 percent, is not being collected on qualifying items — including clothing, computers and school supplies:

Miller County and Lake Ozark are waiving county and local sales tax. Camden and Morgan counties and the cities of Osage Beach, Camdenton, Eldon and Laurie have all opted out., meaning local sales taxes will be collected. A total of 166 cities, 49 counties and 71 special districts have chosen not to participate in the holiday. The sales tax holiday continues til midnight Sunday night.
