The suspect captured Thursday after attempting to break into Fort Leonard Wood and firing on police during a high-speed chase before wrecking his car at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, prompting a campus-wide lockdown, was being held at the Phelps County Jail in Rolla in lieu of two $1 Million bonds. 31-year-old Cody N. Willcoxson of Southwest City, Missouri, faces charges in two counties. Willcoxson is charged with two counts of assaulting a law enforcement officer and two counts of armed criminal action in Phelps County. In Pulaski County, he is charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, armed criminal action, property damage and driving without a valid license. Willcoxson was apprehended by a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper on Route 63 south of Rolla at approximately 1 p.m. Authorities say he was shot in the hand at some point during the day, but no other injuries were reported.
