The City of Osage Beach will decide soon if they’re going to ask voters to approve a use tax. When they meet this Thursday, the Board of Aldermen is expected to hear first reading of a proposal to place a use tax on the November ballot. The use tax would be for a total of 2%, the same as the city’s sales tax. It applies to purchases made online through an out-of-state retailer. It’s estimated that the measure could generate an additional $226,000 a year for the city if approved. Thursday’s meeting begins at 6pm in Osage Beach City Hall.
