The Osage Beach Board of Alderman met last night to discuss agenda items including a presentation from Missouri Solar Applications on adapting the program called “” which is a green assistance program for business and non profits to assist in getting loans to upgrade your building to a “green” efficiency building. The board also approved the purchase of a F550 pickup truck and plow, and accepted 3 ornamental street lights into the city collection. Also on tap was discussion about putting a city use tax on ballot for voters in the upcoming elections, the motion was passed and the option will be on the ballot. The use tax will recover revenues that were lost when the State ruled out of town registration taxes illegal, costing many local area cities a good portion of revenue. This tax is 2%, similar to the local sales tax and would only go into effect if the public votes yes.
