The US Postal Service is offering a word of caution to Lake Area resident wanting to ship out any Christmas gifts this year.

Do it early.

Officials say with the unprecedented challenges posed by COVID 19, they’re anticipating slow downs and possible delays in getting last minute packages to their destinations on time.

The post office says they do have over 644-thousand employees who are working to make sure the packages arrive on time.

Officials say they will also be expanding to Sunday Delivery to areas that are expected to see high package volumes.
