A Lee’s Summit Attorney accused of killing her father and his girlfriend in 2010 at their vacation home in Sunrise Beach was back in court this week. Susan Van Note who is accused of killing William Van Note and Sharon Dickson, appeared before Judge Kenneth Hayden in Laclede County Court for a motion to suppress hearing requested by her attorneys. Specifically, the Van Note defense is requesting to suppress cell phone evidence. Judge Hayden granted both sides 20 days to file additional briefs, suggestions, arguments or authorities with the court at which time the court will take the matter under advisement. In June, a mistrial was declared due to potential jurors discussing the case and there is no word yet as to when her trial will actually begin.
