A few hundred Missouri residents may find themselves without cell service soon. Verizon has announced plans to cut off nearly 8500 people who’ve been using too much data on roaming networks, including approximately 400 in the Show-Me-State. The customers involved all have “unlimited” data plans, but the company says the roaming is costing them more than the customers are paying. The original cut-off date was October 17th. After backlash from lawmakers including Senator Claire McCaskill and others, the company has now extended that date to December 1st to allow people more time to find a new carrier or switch to one of their limited data plans.
