A Morgan County meat processor has been shut down by the state after failing an inspection. The Missouri Department of Agriculture says custom exempt processing permissions for Leinbach Custom Butchering in Versailles were suspended after the facility was found to be using non-potable water. Facilities operating under a custom processing exemption don’t sell meat to the public; custom exempt processing is performed for livestock owners for their own consumption. The suspension will remain in place until the problem is corrected.
