The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a plane crash that happened late yesterday afternoon in Morgan County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol report says 63-year old Gregory Everett of Versailles had just taken off from a private airstrip in his Kolb Mark 3 aircraft when he called the airfield and stated that his engine was overheating. The aircraft stalled and went nose first into a field on private property off of Great Oaks Road and Sheep Drive. Everett, who was the only person on the plane, suffered serious injuries. The Versailles man was airlifted to University Hospital by the Staff for Life helicopter.
