Class of 2020 Graduates for University of Missouri Army ROTC Program

A Lake area resident is moving up in the ranks.

Versailles High School Graduate Shade Bullock has been given the position of Second Lieutenant in the Missouri Army ROTC.

Bullock will be part of the Chemical corps and will be attending nuclear leadership training at Fort Leonard Wood.

Officials say once her training is completed, she will be assigned to South Korea and could eventually become a Captain with Military Intelligence operations in the next year.

CDT Shade Bullock is from Lake of the Ozarks, MO. Shade will be commissioning with a Bachelors in Journalism an emphasis in television reporting and broadcasting and a minor in Military Sciences. She will commission May 2020 into Military Intelligence with a branch detail of Chemical Corps. She was the I/O during the fall and is currently the Battalion Commander. CDT Bullock will commission as a Distinguished Military Graduate. During Shades time as Mizzou she has been a reporter and anchor at the NBC affiliate KOMU 8 News; selected as one of five Mizzou Honors students to travel to Bosnia-Herzegovina to study the Srebrenica genocide; Journalism ambassador for the University of Missouri School of Journalism; Served on the executive board of my sorority, Alpha Chi Omega, as the Vice President of Intellectual Development; Helped plan and organize Mizzou homecoming as a member of the University of Missouri Homecoming Steering Committee; Attended a Mizzou Alternative Breaks trip to Mayetta Kansas to volunteer in the community of the Prairie Band Potawatomi tribe. Her ROTC involvement includes CULP this past summer in Mongolia. She participated in the Bataan Memorial Death March in New Mexico and ran in the Army Ten-Miler twice. She has competed in Ranger Buddy at the University of Kansas twice and plan on competing again this spring.
