How strong is the bond between man’s best friend and its master? The answer is strong enough for a Versailles woman to spend the next four months in the department of corrections. That was the fate handed down Monday morning in Morgan County Circuit Court for 29-year-old Trina Aragon. Aragon appeared on a probation violation and, when questioned by the judge, replied that she would rather spend nearly one-thousand dollars on surgery for her injured dog than pay for court-ordered expenses. The judge replied back by revoking Aragon’s probation on an original felony assault charge sending the 29-year-old off to a 120-day treatment program instead of, what could have been, a straight seven years in prison.
