Next Tuesday Sunrise Beach will meet to hire a new sewer engineer.
On Monday the board of trustees was presented two sewer plans, one from Olson Associates and one from Schultz and Summers Engineering. Olson suggested a $2.4 million dollar sewer system serving the city hall ridge from city hall to Lake Road 5-36 with a treatment plant behind Daylight Donuts. Schultz and Summers presented a $4.2 million dollar sewer system serving Highway 5 from the Hurricane Deck Bridge to the north village limits.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved a $5 million dollar Community Development Block Grant for the system, with the village having voter authorization for $8 million dollars in sewer and water improvements.
