The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission is scheduled to vote today on sweeping budget cuts that would make major changes to the way MoDOT takes care of roads. The cvost-cutting plan would save the agency $512 million by closing facilities, selling equipment and eliminating 1,200 positions. The plan includes closing MoDOT maintenance facilities in Stover, Montreal, and on Route 42 in Osage Beach.
