Voters said “NO” on Tuesday to a 15 cent levy increase for the Osage Beach Fire Protection District. The final tally was 227 NO votes compared with 176 voting in favor. Osage Beach Fire Chief Jeff Dorhauer gives us his reaction to the news.
Also from Tuesday’s election, The Southwest Camden County Fire Tax also went down in defeat with 84% of voters saying no to a 30 cent levy to provide funds in the district while Prop 1 in the Stoutland School District did not pass with 57% of voters saying no to a levy adjustment from two-75 per one hundred thousand dollars of assessed valuation to just over three-43 per one hundred thousand dollars. And the Village of Climax Springs voted to dissolve the corporation of the community by a vote of 28 to 6.
