Wal-Mart employees across the Lake have something to be excited about today. The company announced that they plan to raise their minimum wage to about $9 an hour. This will affect both part time and full time employees across the county, some 500,000 worth of them to be exact. The company said in a statement that this is a series of important changes which demonstrates our commitment to their associates according to Walmart President and CEO Doug McMillon. The changes will go into effect starting in April of this year. Wal-Mart runs 5 stores in the Lake area alone.
