We told you that a wet spring and early fall helped reduce the number of natural cover fires in the area this year. Firefighters warn that those numbers may go up though thanks to the drier, warmer conditions we’ve had recently.
That’s Mid-County Fire Chief Scott Frandsen. In Gravois Mills, they responded to two outdoor burns in one day last Wednesday. One got out of control and damaged three structures. Frandsen says, if you have to burn, do it responsibly.
As always, before burning, check the forecast for wind and humidity, and always check with your fire district to make sure they’re allowing burning that day.
