The City of Warsaw picked up some money over the past week after a lawsuit with Century Link between Warsaw and several other Missouri City’s is settled. According to reports, the city received $30,000 from the suit. At this time its unknown what the city will do with the extra money. Other items discussed at their recent board meeting include the idea of putting together a concert and dance program on the street near the Horseshoe Bar for the upcoming Jubilee days. Another big set of news for the city was announced when Irv Jensen, the County tourism director, announced that since 2010 Benton County has seen a $1.5 million dollar increase in tourism spending. Finally the board approved a number of items include purchasing a tractor for the park department, accepting a no-match grant to upgrade the city’s fluoridation equipment and approving Lane’s Quality service to maintain the airport runway lights.
