The Water Patrol division of the highway patrol has released the guidelines for watching this year’s Lake Race from the water. Just like years past, boating traffic will be restricted to no-wake and idle speed from the dam to the four mile marker of the main channel. That restriction will be in place from 9:30am until an hour after the last race. Osage Beach Fire Chief Jeff Dorhauer says there are also designated areas you need to be in if you plan to watch from your boat.
The water patrol says you should be prepared to need enough anchor line for water depth potentially greater than 100 feet. You’re also encouraged to anchor near the mouths of the coves, but don’t hinder any ingress or egress at those spots.
