Weekend Fire Destroys RV’s and Nearby Structure at Red Oak Resort

Local News Monday, March 2nd, 2020

Three RV trailers and a nearby structure are destroyed over the weekend at Red Oak Resort in Greenview. Mid-County Fire Chief Scott Frandsen says the call to Recreation Row was received late Saturday night and, upon arrival, the RV’s were fully engulfed and the structure was heavily involved. There were also several propane bottles overheating and releasing. Personnel on the scene shuttled water to attack the blaze and keep it from spreading any further. The RV’s and structure were, apparently, vacant at the time and there were no injuries reported. Sunrise Beach and Osage Beach assisted at the scene while Lake Ozark provided move-ups for Mid-County. The blaze is being investigated by Mid-County assistant fire marshal despite the cause not appearing to be suspicious. Firefighters were on the scene for about three-and-a-half hours.
