A pit bull that’s been running around the west side finally is caught and now has a home. The staff animal shelter in Laurie had received well over 100 phone calls over the past two years about a stray pit bull that would growl and run away every time someone would attempt to capture the animal. Over the past two years the pit bull has gone from Gravois Mills to Laurie. Staff officers were alerted that she was hiding at the Marco’s pizza location on highway 5 and apparently had given birth to 9 puppies that were also there with her. Once volunteers from the shelter arrived on scene, they were able to get medication administered to the animal to calm her down and threw a leash on her finally capturing the animal. One of the volunteers took the animal and her puppies into her home and has since officially adopted the dog.
