Numerous wildfires broke out across the Lake area on Thursday, despite warnings on burning with sustained winds of 20- to 30 miles an hour.

According to the Gravois Fire District, one of the fires consumed around 20 acres in Camden County.

It started around 3:30PM and lasted for over 5 hours.

Residents on social media shared images of the fire, in which they say jumped the lake and started another fire.

At this time there are no charges being filed in the fires.
