A Rocky Mount man accused of helping dispose of a body to, allegedly, conceal a murder is scheduled to be in a Morgan County courtroom today (9/27). 44-year-old Darrell Dewayne Willis is charged with abandonment of a corpse and three counts of tampering with physical evidence…all four charges being felonies. A probable cause statement indicates that Willis claims the common law husband of Joanna Anderson, Charles Swon, admitted that he had killed Anderson and would pay for help disposing of the body. Swon died of cancer in July and the body of a female victim, who had been dismembered, was discovered early this month when Willis, reportedly, led authorities to the dump site off Red Arrow Road. Bond for Willis is $250-thousand with a motion for a possible bond reduction set to be considered during his appearance in court.
