Ameren is reminding people to take steps to protect your boats and docks this winter. The annual draw dawn is expected to get the lake levels down to about 654 feet. That’s six feet below the full-pool depths you’ll see in the summer. Ameren officials say fluctuating levels and freezing water will pose concerns for dock owners. Below the dam, you’re encouraged to get docks off the river before freezing takes place. Hinges and other hardware connecting docks to the seawalls and piers should also have built-in flexibility to handle the water fluctuations. For more information and tips contact Ameren Missouri. You can also monitor the lake levels online at www.AmerenMissouri.com/lake or by calling 365-9205.
