The Lake of the Ozarks is facing some of the harshest winter weather conditions it’s seen in several years.
Morgan, Benton and Miller counties are facing a Wind Chill Warning while Camden, Laclede and areas south are now under a Winter Storm Warning.
Record breaking cold temperatures are expected and there will be snow accumulations possible up to 6 inches, so if you’re heading up…bundle up.
“You want to dress in layers, that helps to keep your core body temperature up and protect you from hypothermia. You want to wear gloves, something to cover your ears and protect your head, anything to protect your skin to help avoid any frostbite.”
Meteorologist Ray Miller with the Weatherology Weather Center.
It’s highly recommended that you avoid travel at this time and remain indoors until the system passes.
If you do have to be out, you should double check your tires for proper inflation and make sure an emergency kit is in your vehicle that includes extra blankets, backup batteries and plenty of water.
