Winter Weather Advisory In Effect Monday – Sub Zero Temps Expected Thursday

Local News Monday, February 8th, 2021

Temperatures in the teens and single digits are in store for the Lake of the Ozarks in the coming days.

“Definitely always a good idea in these sort of temperatures to bundle up, wear multiple layers, gloves, hates…especially for the kiddos…that’s definitely an important thing.”

Meteorologist Derrek Dalman with the KRMS Weatherology Weather Center.

He tells KRMS News you should leave faucets inside your house on a slow drip to help prevent pipes from freezing.

“It’s always a good idea to make sure your sinks are dripping. Doesn’t have to be a lot of water, just enough to have enough drip overnight hours. Also make sure you have those sink doors open to allow some airflow to get into that piping, to make sure you don’t have any frozen pipes.”

Dalman also says driving conditions could remain slick in some areas with temperatures staying too cold to melt any snow or ice.

A winter weather advisory is in effect until 6PM this evening.
