Better safe than sorry. Some friendly words of advice being offered to Lake Area residents today, as it is “Winter Weather Awareness Day” across Missouri. The day is observed to encourage residents to get ready for the unexpected which, according to Ray Miller in the Weather Eye Center, means starting with the basics such as an emergency kit for your vehicle.
Miller also says it’s a good idea to keep some food and bottled water in your vehicle just in case and to put together a simple checklist in case of a winter weather event that keeps you stranded at home.
