An area woman wanted in Morgan County on felony charges is behind bars after hitting a Callaway County sheriff’s deputy with her car near Jefferson City. Police say 32 year old Ashley Stone of Barnett arrived at a towing facility to claim a vehicle at which time deputies ordered her to get out of her car. Instead, Stone accelerated, hit a deputy with her vehicle and fled from the scene. She was eventually apprehended following a high speed chase after her car broke down. Stone was arrested for first degree assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and a felony warrant for narcotics. She is being held without bond.
