Work on the Rock Island Trail is in full swing. The 144 mile section of railroad between Beaufort and Windsor is facing a lot of salvage work before it’s transferred to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources later this year. Their focus right now is removing vegetation and railroad track materials. They’re currently working on vegetation between Windsor and Pleasant Hill, but they will be focused between Eldon and Versailles in the near future. They’ve also removed 79 miles of railroad materials, leaving 65 miles to go.
