A rash of wrong-way driving accidents over the past year in the Lake Area continued in Miller County. The Highway Patrol says the most recent accident happened late Monday afternoon on Highway-54 about a mile east of Highway-52. In it, a 78-year-old from Eldon was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane striking, nearly head-on, a pick-up truck. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and, fortunately, escaped with minor-to-moderate injuries. There was no reason given on the highway patrol’s report for the older man driving in the wrong lane.
