While we may be partial to the joys of living and boating here at Lake of the Ozarks, now a popular website reinforces what we have been thinking for years. Boatingmag.com has updated its list of the top-10 places for boating across the country’s lower-48 and the lake appears on that list. Attributes identified for the lake, according to the website, include: nine public-access ramps, a long list of private marinas, the rental industry for boats and other vessels, available lodging, and the numerous dockside cafes and watering holes. Other areas appearing on the list include: Destin, Florida; Long Island, New York; Newport, Oregon; Chickamauga Lake in Chattanooga, Tennessee; Phoenix, Arizona; Seattle, Washington; Lake Murray in Columbia, South Carolina; Green Bay; and Traverse City, Michigan. The top-10 was compiled based on livability, public access, convenience and relaxation.
