Young Black Bear Killed In Car Accident On I-44

A Black Bear is dead after being struck by a car on Interstate 44 in Pulaski County.

Officials with the DOC say it was a female around 1 ½ years old.

They say it’s surprising to them because the majority of bears sightings in the area have been predominantly male.

The number of Black Bears have been slowly been increasing across the Ozarks.
