The Army Corps of Engineers is attempting to fight back against Zebra Muscles that have infiltrated Pomme De Terre Lake after a homeowner moved an infested dock from Lake of the Ozarks. According to the report, the corps is planning to drop the Lake’s level by 3 feet taking it from 839 to 836 feet, which will take about 10 or more days. Greg Stoner with the Missouri Department of Conservation says that Zebra muscles are quite the nuisance and can clock up generators on the dams, but they are vulnerable in the summertime
The dock has since been removed from the water. Zebra Muscles first came to the Lake of the Ozarks back in 2006 but have since been in decline.
