It was a close call for a five-year-old boy from Lincoln who nearly drowned in Benton County.
The highway patrol says it happened shortly after 9:00 Thursday morning when the youngster was observing rising flood waters from the bridge at Rambow Road and Beeman Avenue.
The boy slipped into the current and was swept under the bridge before surfacing about 10 yards on the other side of the bridge where he was rescued.
The boy did suffer moderate injuries and was taken to Bothwell Hospital.
