Camdenton Growing Closer To Opening Date Of New Community Center

Anticipation is building in Camdenton as the city is drawing near to what will be the long-awaited grand opening of a community center next to the aquatic facility.

Administrator Jeff Hooker says the process hasn’t been flawless but construction is very visible and is progressing quickly.

“We’re on schedule, a little bit under budget. Had a little roof problem. They sent the wrong size roofing. So we’ve had a little delay in that on part of the roof, not the whole roof, but inside framings being done, insulations being done, the fire suppression people are there putting up the sprinklers and doing all that kind of stuff, electrical gas lines going in.”

Hooker also says, assuming there are no more unexpected delays, the $4.5 million community center should be open to the public on June 18^th.
