An Eldon man is facing charges in Miller County following a bizarre incident involving a firearm on Sunday.

According to the Sheriff’s office, deputies responded after a victim reported being shot at by the suspect, now identified as 26-year-old Elijah James Pierce of Eldon.

According to the probable cause statement, Pierce’s partner had contacted the victim asking them to help pick them up around 9PM…and along the way, the victim’s vehicle became stuck in their driveway.

Pierce allegedly confronted the victim in the driveway, before leaving the victim in their vehicle and taking off to assist the partner, who later called the victim and told them “he was returning with a gun.”

Court documents show the victim then took off into the woods on foot and heard gunshots being fired.

On Monday deputies interviewed Pierce, who indicated that the suspect did retrieve a shotgun and rifle from his residence, and that Pierce had allegedly shot at the victims’ vehicle to “prove a point,” stating that “Crazy things happen” when he drinks.

At the scene deputies located an AR-15, six spent shotgun shell casings and one spent .223 casing.

Pierce was charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Armed Criminal Action and had been booked into the Miller County Jail, but has since been released on a $25,000 bond.
