Identity Theft Awareness Week Underway In Missouri

With identity theft being one of the fastest growing crimes in the U.S., Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway’s Office is warning residents to be vigilant when it comes to protecting personal information.

Hanaway’s office also says there are several types of identity theft which include financial, medical, child, insurance, driver’s license, social security and criminal.

First and foremost, if you believe you are a victim of I-D theft, you need to report the information as soon as possible to the appropriate agencies including the Missouri AG-‘s office.

All this week is recognized as “Identity Theft Awareness Week”.
