Some much-needed added protection is on the way to Freya…the Osage Beach Police Department’s K9 officer.
Lieutenant Michael O’Day says the bullet and stab protective vest for K9 Freya is possible after a donation from the non-profit Vested Interest in K9’s which has provided some 6,400 of the body armor vests worth about a combined $7-million for K9 officers over the years.
There is an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9’s across the country.
Delivery of the vest for Osage Beach K9 Freya is expected in about 10 weeks.
