There’s new research out suggesting that sleeping late could be just as bad for your health as having insomnia.
Chinese researchers writing in the British Medical Journal wanted to see whether sleeping habits have any effect on diabetes risk.
Based on data from 23,000 adults in the US, they found those who had the occasional weekend lie-in to make up for sleep deprivation during the working week were OK.
But otherwise, getting too much sleep turned out to be just as bad for diabetes risk as getting too little.
The PERFECT amount of sleep to get each night, they say: seven hours and 18 minutes.
