The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has scheduled an open-house community briefing next month in Tuscumbia to outline upcoming bridge work in Miller County.
MoDOT plans to replace three bridges:
· Route 17, Cattail Creek Bridge, 1.3 miles south of the Osage River Bridge
· Route 52, Humphreys Creek Bridge, located 1.3 miles west of Route PP
· Route MM, J Buster Creek Bridge, located 2.8 miles south of U.S. 54
The community briefing will be held Tuesday, January 11th from 4:30pm ‘til 6:15pm in the cafeteria of the Miller County R-III School at 526 School Road in Tuscumbia.
No formal presentation is planned. Staff from MoDOT will be available to talk with the public and answer questions about project plans and schedules, estimated closure durations and proposed detours. The targeted bridges will be closed during construction.
The work is part of MoDOT’s “Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program,” which is intended to improve 800 of Missouri’s worst bridges by the end of 2013. Ninety bridges are being replaced or repaired in the mid-Missouri area as part of this program.
