A wreck east of Osage Beach early Saturday morning injured eight people, seven of whom were taken to hospitals with serious injuries, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol. The crash occurred at approximately 1:15am on U.S. Highway 42 at Highway U.
The Highway Patrol says a Ford truck was northbound, passing another vehicle, when the driver lost control and the truck overturned and rolled several times. A report indicates that none of the occupants was wearing a seatbelt. The injured were transported to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach and University Hospital in Columbia. They were identified as:
15-year-old Mason Witt of Brumley
16-year-olds Autumn and Jacob Brown, hometown unknown
19-year-old Colt England of Crocker
16-year-old Garrett Fancher, hometown unknown
17-year-old Leslie Ponder of Dixon
19-year-old Megan Hentges of Jefferson City
22-year-old Brady Long of Croker (driver)
The highway patrol gave no indication as to whether alcohol or other impairments were involved.
