St. Charles Man Killed in Camden County Accident

A St. Charles man is dead after the pickup he was driving on eastbound-54 near Route-A ran off the road before striking two guardrails, traveled down a steep embankment and then struck two highway signs and multiple trees.

The highway patrol says it happened shortly after 3:00 Sunday afternoon.

The 64-year-old was wearing a seat belt at the time and was taken to Lake Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
