New Study Puts Some “Overweight” Americans Into The “Obese” Category

More Americans than previously thought… are now considered obese.

A new definition of obesity means 1 in 5 Americans are now considered obese.

An analysis looked at the European Association for the Study of Obesity’s new definition of obesity, which looks beyond just body mass index and existing health conditions.

It found that many Americans who were previously considered overweight would now qualify as obese.

People with obesity have a 50% higher risk of dying compared to adults in the normal weight category.
