A 28-year-old Raytown man faces five years without parole up to life in prison after entering a guilty plea in federal court to a charge of possessing a firearm in the furtherance of a crime of violence.

It had been alleged that Ta’Rod Glenel Perkins had been accused of robbing a CVS in Kansas City of a red tub filled with controlled substances. Perkins was tracked down after a device in the tub led investigators to a location in Belton.

A pre-sentencing investigation will be conducted by the U.S. Probation Office.

The case was investigated as part of Operation Take Back America.
