How does the State of Missouri fare when it comes to the highest average income levels across the country…?…number-23 according to a study put together by the personal finance website WalletHub.com.
The study used three key metrics for each state…the average annual income of the top 5%, the median annual income and the average annual income of the bottom 20%.
The average annual income for the top 5% in Missouri was calculated to be just shy of $475,000 while median annual income came in at about $64,000 and the average income of those in the bottom 20% in Missouri was just over $17,900.
States with the lowest average annual incomes are Mississippi, New Mexico and West Virginia while the states with the highest average annual incomes are New Jersey, New York and Virginia.
