New Drug Destruction Kiosk In Sunrise Beach Aims To Save Lives

The first-of-its-kind drug destruction kiosk in Missouri and only the 14^th in the nation lands in the lake area and is now in use.

Sunrise Beach Police Chief Scott Craig says installation of the kiosk, located in the department’s lobby, gives residents a chance to dispose of, and destroy, expired or unused prescription medications with no questions asked.

The project was initially funded through a donation from a lake area charity event and will be maintained and supported by the Laurie-Sunrise Beach Rotary Club’s Project SMART.

The drug destruction kiosk in the Sunrise Beach Police Department lobby is open to the public during regular business hours…both pills and liquids can be disposed of in the kiosk and, according to Chief Craig, could literally save someone’s life.
