CAMDEN COUNTY SUSPENDS SNOW REMOVAL OPERATIONS
CAMDEN COUNTY HAS OFFICIALLY SUSPENDED ALL SNOW REMOVAL OPERATIONS, AS CREWS HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO KEEP UP WITH CONDITIONS. AS A RESULT, LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS ARE WARNING PEOPLE TO STAY OFF ALL ROADWAYS. THEY’RE ADVISING NO TRAVEL THROUGH TONIGHT. OPERATIONS WILL RESUME ONCE CONDITIONS IMPROVE. Missouri To Lose U.S. House Seat
The Census Bureau data released Tuesday show that Missouri will lose one of its 9 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Although the state’s population has grown by 7 percent since the 2000 Census, that rate is less than the national growth rate of 9.7 percent. That reduces Missouri’s representation in the House to 8 seats.
The next General Assembly will redistrict the state, and tomorrow morning we’ll talk live with the man directing that effort in Jefferson City.
State Representative John Diehl chairs the Redistricting Committee at the General Assembly. He told KRMS’s “Morning Magazine” on Wednesday that the committee plans to have a map drawn by May.
However, Diehl said that the panel will await more detailed data from the Census Bureau in February or March before looking at map revisions. He said the new map likely will reflect a population increase, per district, of more than 100,000.
