Natural Cover Fires Continue to be a Problem in Lake Area Despite Recent Rain

Natural cover fires continue to be a problem for fire districts and departments around the lake area.

Just Wednesday, personnel from the Gravois and Sunrise Beach districts responded to a blaze in the 100 block of Little Acres Boulevard off Bass Point Road.

About five acres were involved and the blaze was quickly brought under control.

There were no injuries and crews remained on the scene for two hours.

No cause of the natural cover fire was announced.
