Lake of the Ozarks is under a week away from an event that will no doubt become a yearly event.
It’s called the Cannonball Run, a weeklong community-driven event which, according to Ron Duggan, owner of Captain Ron’s, will start with some water Olympics being hosted on the 16th by the Laurie-Sunrise Beach Rotary.
“It’ll be from 11:00 until 3:30. There’s a paddle board races, kayak races, there’s a swim pong contest where you’ll have teams out in the water playing swim pong.”
The week will then continue with several other activities culminating next weekend with a chance to win up to $50,000.
“For $200 you get a poker hand and you can come in to Captain Ron’s or at Camden on the Lake on Friday or Saturday the 22nd or 23rd of August and draw your poker hand.”
Extra poker hands are available by collecting $500 worth of receipts from any lake area business.
